Workplace injuries come in all shapes and sizes

  • Falls (lower level)
  • Slips or trips
  • Struck by object

The list of injuries includes similar sounding issues, such as the different categories of falls above. While at first glance these injuries may seem redundant, but it’s important to measure different causes so both employers and employees are aware of the different threats they face in daily life. A fall usually involves balance and stability, whereas a slip or trip includes a cluttered or dirty workspace.

  • Struck by object/equipment (falling/thrown)
  • Bodily overexertion (stretching/crawling)
  • Roadway incidents

  • Struck by objects/machinery (collisions)
  • Repetitive motion

OSHA reports that 4.1 million workers suffer serious injury on the job each year, and millions more suffer from minor injuries. The best thing workers can do is to review the list above and to preemptively avoid dangerous situations. However, accidents and injuries do happen.
